Jace the Dog needs a home
Jace is extremely cute, eager to please and a fast learner. He just went through and passed the CLASS (Canine Life and Social Skills) training program. Jace also does nose work, a fun search and scenting sport. In a previous home, Jace demonstrated aggression toward other dogs, including getting into fights at doggie daycare. He will need to be the only dog in a home. Jace also demonstrated guarding behaviors, including guarding of food, toys and people, in his previous home.Although Jace has not demonstrated these behaviors at the Sanctuary, Dogtown caregivers and trainers have been working hard with him to assure they will not be an issue in the future. He has been practicing " parallel? walks, where he walks at a safe distance away from (but parallel to) other dogs and he has had playdates with carefully selected canine companions. Jace has also been practicing meeting lots of people. He was born in 2014 and takes prescription medication to help with his liver. Although Jace will need a dog savvy person who understands his previous behavior, he has proven to be a dream student in Dogtown and will no doubt have continued success in the right home.
